Equine Facilitated Coaching for People Who are Incarcerated and/or Recovering from Addiction.
For several years, Julia Montagnet has utilized equine-assisted healing to support individuals navigating developmental disabilities, mental health challenges, trauma recovery, along with at-risk-youth programs. Across the country in Washington State, Ginny Burton had developed the O-UT Program, an intentional accountability program designed to help individuals change their life for good. Inspired by Ginny's work, Julia reached out with a visionary question: What if we had a program based on the O-UT curriculum with horses? Ginny’s enthusiastic response sparked a partnership, and New Reins was born.

Hosted at Life Horse at Grandview Farm in Milton, Florida, New Reins is dedicated to making a profound impact in our community. We provide our specialized services completely free of charge to jails, prisons, and rehabilitation centers throughout the Florida Panhandle.
Our organization is also inspired by the incredible work being done by our neighbors at the Lowell Correctional Facility in Ocala, Florida. We are proud to join a global movement; below, you will find links to the O-UT program and similar equine organizations worldwide that highlight how equine-facilitated healing is gaining recognition as a powerful, transformative resource for recovery.
